Assignment 1:

5 (maximum 7)-min. presentation on Feb. 20

How do you, the educated musician, talk about music from last week?  Using your experience (musical, theoretical, practical, philosophical), discuss a piece released within the last 12 months.  Make your presentation suitable for an educated audience (the rest of us in the class) and no more than 5 to 7-minutes long.  You will not have time to do an exhaustive analysis; but pick one or two or more important or interesting parameters; or one particularly point in the music that is interesting to you; or, alternatively, you could introduce the song in a general overview.

By Feb. 13, you must email us a link to the piece you plan to analyze on Feb.20 (send the link to peterhannan@shaw.ca AND kmorrison@vcc.ca.
